Postmortem

The Gateway service experienced an outage on Saturday, February 24th, from about 8:00-8:10 PM EST. During this outage, no merchants would have been able to process payment transactions via the Gateway. Merchants without Store and Forward would not have been able to transact via our Gateway. Merchants using Store and Forward were protected during the incident, and would have performed offline authorizations. Our monitoring shows that offline/stored transactions were replayed by about 8:30 PM EST that evening.

The root cause of the issue was related to a database storage array failure, which required manual intervention to restore service.

We are continuing to investigate this incident and will provide further updates as appropriate.

Resolved

The Gateway issue is resolved and service has been fully restored.

We have confirmed that the Gateway service is currently experiencing widespread disruptions at this time. Our network operations center is investigating the issue and will update this incident with additional information as it becomes available.
